2011 Summer Camp in Shanghai-Xi an-Beijing
Summer Address:

Experience China this Summer! July 9 ~ July 31, 2011 Shanghai – Xi’an – Beijing Leadership and Community Service Program for High School Students, by Aston Abroad This program is designed for English-speaking high-school students, providing opportunities for them to experience Chinese language and culture while working toward fulfilling graduation requirements for community service. Participating high school students will earn a certificate of Chinese language study, and typically earn 40-50 volunteer service hours through teaching English as a second language (ESL) to low-income Chinese children. After a brief stay in Shanghai, the core program will be held in the ancient Chinese capital of Xi’an. Mornings will consist of Chinese language classes followed by a selection of cultural activities; afternoons will provide opportunities for teaching and service; and evenings will allow ample time for supervised exploration, shopping, visits to local markets, and guided cultural exchanges. During weekends and on mid-week field trips, participants will visit historical temples, go on sightseeing tours, and have group lectures and group discussions on the places they visit. Space for this program is limited to a maximum of 36 students per summer, and the deadline for submitting the deposit is June 10. Departure from the US is July 9 and return from China is July 31. Aston Abroad is part of Aston Education Group, an international company with more than 15 years experience educating Chinese youth and bringing Westerners to China.
