KAMP HOLLYWOOD!™ (“KH”) is one of the nation’s first moviemaking
summer camps for young people. KH offers summer fun integrating both acting and
film production. Not only will the participants learn moviemaking, but they will
also learn vital teamwork discipline and camaraderie, all accomplished in a
creatively nurturing environment. This year will be our eleventh year and our 13th
summer camp offered and is taught by industry professionals.
Activities and Benefits: Participants create and act in a video short. They
receive a 100+ page workbook, a DVD that includes their short and a video
“scrapbook” of the camp, a film festival-style graduation and wrap party where the
videos are screened for family and friends, plus an industry Q & A panel.
Participants are able unleash their creativity in a nurturing environment and
experience a sense of accomplishment which builds real, grounded self esteem. With
this they also learn needed teamwork, organizational and critical thinking skills.
Some alumni have gone on to important film schools such as NYU, USC, UCLA and SMU.
Current Sponsors: Texas Film Commission, Dallas Producers Association, Women In
Film-Dallas, MediaTech Institute, Post Asylum, Linda McAlister Talent, CiCi's
Pizza, Don Ross Nabb/Show Business Studios.
