YOUNG MOVIE MAKER:
M
arch Break Camp
Instructor: Claudia Jurt

March 11-17, 2007 (10:00am-6:00pm)
Screening of Movie: March 22 or 24, 2007

Cost: $499.00 + 6 % GST

This exciting course for young actors is a unique introduction to the overall process of creating a video from start to finish. Participants will rehearse and block a script written for them by a professional screenwriter.  They will work as a team to design the set, costumes and sound.  The script is then videotaped with the participants as the actors. Not only will they participants perform in the video, they will learn about many of the other roles on set. Once everything has been shot, the film will be professionally edited and screened for friends & family.

By following this process our young actors will:

  • Act in a mini-movie written with them in mind

  • Learn how to find a story in a scene

  • Discover what a director is looking for during taping

  • Work in an actual production setting

  • Learn how to ensure continuity in a scene

  • See how scenes are cut and manipulated

  • Find out how an actor can end up on the proverbial, "cutting room floor"

Are you building a video resume?  This course will leave you with a good clip for your demo reel. Every participant will receive a DVD copy of the finished project with an actual movie cover with the actors names and a movie photo on the case.  Class size is limited. There will be a screening held upon completion of the course for all participants, their families and friends. (March 22 or 24, 2007)
