ASA in Costa Rica is an intensive Spanish language program combing homestay and community service for a summer of learning and fun. Costa Rica is a small country but boasts an incredibly rich natural diversity. The capital of San Jose contrasts with dense jungle, volcanoes, pristine beaches, rainforests and as many as 12 distinct microclimates each of which creates a unique ecosystem home to a tremendous biodiversity of plants and animals.

Homestay provides real life cultural immersion and gives you the opportunity to experience Costa Rican culture first hand. You will enjoy daily activities, guided tours, and sports as well as excursions on the weekends. The community service element gives you a further layer of cultural immersion and is an opportunity for you to personally contribute to the local community. Costa Rica is an exciting place to live and study and you will leave with new fiends, special memories and a deep understanding of its colorful culture.
