What you do:
Bike through Europe's most fragrant and beautiful countryside, make chocolate with Belgium's best chocalatier (the only group ever permitted to do so), taste 15 types of chocolate, shop in markets, explore Paris
What You Learn:
Three different cultures in one trip, history, art, how to use public transportation systems, a little of three different languages, the story of Anne Frank, how to navigate through foreign cities and countries.
• WHAT YOU SEE:
The most spectacular scenery in Western Europe, postcard Italy, villages unchanged by time, the most important Renaissance city in the world, Galileo’s telescope, Florence, the leaning tower of Pisa, Italian fashion, Michelangelo’s “David”, famous architecture, sunsets you will always remember, the palace and gardens of Italy’s most important family, the most important art museum in Italy.
• WHAT YOU DO:
Work on a UNESCO World Heritage Site preserving its importance and beauty for the world, swim in clear water, jump off rocks into the sea, snorkel in the Mediterranean, hike world famous trails through lemon and olive groves, eat incredible food, shop, take an incredible boat trip to a gorgeous resort town, climb the Forence Duomo for phenomenal views of Tuscany, take a gelato tour of ice cream houses, dance the night away, picnic with the leaning tower of Pisa as a backdrop, stroll streets between buildings hundreds of years old, live as an Italian, go behind the scenes of a fashion house and shop til you drop.
• WHAT YOU LEARN:
The importance of preserving beauty for future generations, the role of the Medici family in the Renaissance, how to experience a side of Italy known to Europeans but not to most Americans, the effects of the devastation of the Black Death in Italy, art history, how to fit into another culture, how to enjoy life simply and eat well, all about Galileo and his work, how fast time goes in Paradise, how to give of yourself to help others.
