ACDA is a SCUBA camp founded in 1989 by Woody Ward, a marine science educator with over 30 years experience in teaching children.  Since its inception, Aqua Camp & Diving Academy has held a base camp in Panama City, Florida, where it provides an affordable as well as safe alternative to the traditional summer camp.  Over the past decade and a half, ACDA has grown to include, in addition to its regular base camp, trips to exotic offshore destinations such as the Bahamas, Belize, Bonaire, the Caymans, Cozumel, Honduras, and most recently, Costa Rica.  From its base camp to throughout the Caribbean, Aqua Camp & Diving Academy's staff of experienced instructors and divemasters, many of whom started as campers themselves, can instruct all skill levels from beginner up through professional degrees.  With a focus on safe and responsible diving, ACDA has consistently been a top certification member of the International Diving Educators Association.  In 2002, IDEA bestowed upon Aqua Camp & Diving Academy the accreditation of Training Facility of the Year.

    From day one when the camper arrives, the adventure begins.  SCUBA diving, snorkeling, swimming, fishing, playing on the beach, bodysurfing, and boating are just a few of the activities that comprise each week of camp.  Underwater, campers can dive sunken shipwrecks, reefs, genuine Hollywood sites such as those in many James Bond movies, and of course shark dives for the truly adventurous at heart.  Above the water, extracurricular activities include white-water rafting, visiting ancient Mayan ruins, and zip-line canopy tours of the jungle in some of our more exotic locations.  Whatever the level of desire for thrill may be, Aqua Camp & Diving Academy has a destination in mind for you.  With ACDA, it's not just a camp, it's an adventure!!
