Armstrong Scholars Program
Summer Address:
Yosemite National Park, California, United StatesThe Armstrong Scholars Program brings young women together for a summer backpacking adventure and educational experience in the spectacular High Sierras. This extraordinary program seeks to inspire young women to reach their highest potential and develop a stronger sense of self, community, and connection to nature.
Through funding provided by the Joie Armstrong Memorial Fund, every participant will receive equal scholarship assistance that covers all but a minor portion of the program fees. Ten participants will be chosen based on nominations by their educators and community leaders and the strength of their applications. Participation is limited to insure a quality experience for everyone involved. Participants will venture into the High Sierra backcountry with our inspiring and highly skilled female instructors for a trip filled with beauty, learning, and physical and mental challenges.
