Arts, Adventures & Academics - June 20-July 22, 2011 (5 weeks excluding July 4). "Our Planet: Keeping Her Healthy" is the inspiration for Arts, Adventures & Academics 2011. Open to all, it is an exciting and popular City of Walnut Creek Civic Arts Education and School District sponsored program offering new opportunities and choices of activities for fun learning and creative, positive experiences for kids entering K through 9th grades. Arts based classes invigorate the program. Kindergarteners enjoy a self-contained classroom. Grades 1-4 participate in 6 classes, 4 unique subjects taught by 3 specialty teachers and 2 classes from electives, also taught by specialty teachers. Grades 5-9 take 6 electives from a selection of 17 or more choices that include cooking, ceramics, musical theater, drumming, stained glass, leatherwork, science, sports and games and more. Morning programs are at Walnut Creek Intermediate School. In the afternoon, kids go on field trips and participate in Recreation supervised camp activities including swimming, sports and games. This all-encompassing program offers everything needed for a summer to remember! Information to be posted and enrollment begins February 15
