New Summer Camp Promises to

Turn Teens Inside-Out.

Basecamp Adventures Highlights Training and Fun for a Safer Summer Camp Experience

Basecamp Adventures, Inc. has announced its 2008 Summer Expedition Schedule for its new premiere Basecamp Adventures New York summer camp for kids located near the Salmon River Reservoir in Oswego County. This summers season will run from July through August 2008. Basecamps hiking and canoe trips are unique in that they focus on several hours of procedural and safety training prior to any water or land expedition. Learning about equipment and safety is made fun through group participation, contests, and certificates of Achievement.

We wanted to set ourselves apart by assuring parents that their teens safety is the most important part of our program, said Phil Godoy, co-founder. Our goal is to use what our extensive outdoor backgrounds have instilled in us to create an atmosphere of safety, confidence, teamwork, and respect for the environment.

Basecamp Adventures was founded by Phillip Godoy and Christian Cheney, 2 professionals who drew from their experiences and love of the outdoors to develop an innovative summer expedition program for teens. Godoy is a fully certified wilderness expert with over 20 years of outdoors experience in the New York and Canadian border areas. His certifications include Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness EMT, and AHA Professional Rescuer among others.

Basecamp Adventures provides canoeing and hiking expeditions in upstate New York for children ages 13 to 17 that focus on learning, safety, and environmental stewardship. Expeditions include canoeing on Lake Ontario and the Salmon and St. Lawrence rivers. Hiking expeditions are also included to the nearby Adirondacks, Catskills, Oswego county waterfalls and the Canadian frontier. Beginning and intermediate programs are available, along with corporate teambuilding retreats, and conference facility leasing.
