Berkeley Day Camp…not your ordinary camp!!!

 

Berkeley Day Camp is a “traditional summer day camp” that runs Monday – Friday, from 9:00am – 3:30pm. However, we’re not your ordinary, run-of-the-mill day camp. Berkeley Day Camp is full of action-packed adventure and all kinds of messy fun.

 

Berkeley Day Camp is an outdoor traveling day camp, so we get to go out and enjoy the best spots that Berkeley has to offer. Each week campers enjoy two exciting and exhaustive days in Tilden Park where we enjoy hiking trails, group cookouts and sing our morning songs underneath the Eucalyptus trees. Campers also spend two days each week at the Berkeley Marina where we go canoeing, explore the sandy shore, fly kites and hone up on our construction skills at the Adventure Playground! Each week features either a Camp Carnival with the opportunity to win fun prizes, or a special Theme Day. Whether it’s Rock Star Day or Winter in July campers are guaranteed to have a great time. Each week campers will enjoy arts and crafts, special events, camp carnivals, interactive games, canoeing, hiking, hula hooping, exploring and much much more!

 

Every Friday is our Swim Day where campers visit either Lake Anza, Crown Beach in Alameda or Crissy Field in San Francisco for a wet and wild day of swimming, beach lounging and sand castle competitions galore.

 

Berkeley Day Camp won’t be held on Monday, the 4^th of July due to the City holiday, but we take an exciting ferry boat ride to Angel Island that week to make up for it. Campers board the ferry in Tiburon, then head over to Angel Island for hiking, an Immigration Station tour and scenic lunch break. Then we board the ferry again and take a Bay Cruise to see the Golden Gate Bridge.

 

Supervised round-trip transportation from is provided. Day Camp busses pick campers up each morning at 9:00am and drop them off at 3:30pm at the following locations: Cedar Rose Park, Washington Elementary School, Live Oak Community Center in North Berkeley and Willard Park.

 

Berkeley Day Camp runs Monday through Friday from June 20, 2011 – August 19, 2011.

 

Berkeley Day Camp also offers an extended care program at the Willard Park Clubhouse for an additional fee (see below for more information).
