Blue Mountain Ranch is a small, private coed camp situated in the beautiful Pike National Forest west of Colorado Springs, Colorado. We have been in continuous operation since 1947 by the same family.
Coach Bill Allen of Ft. Worth, TX founded the camp because he wanted children to have a place in the summer to escape the pressures of school, sports and society. Further, he believed in the responsibility of adults to be great role models to children and to guide them. He found the beautiful Blue Mountain Ranch in Colorado and created a children's world of fun activities and educational adventures.
Campers gain self confidence and independence when they get to choose their own daily activities, and they do so on a weekly basis. They also participate in the creation of fun evening, weekend and special occasion activities! A love of our natural world is fostered not only by the magnificient environment but also in all activities the kids enjoy. Friendships with kids from all over the world are fostered here in our casual environment and individual attention is a given because of our small size.
We use Pike National Forest for horseback riding and hiking, and we're within a few minutes of the Florissant Fossil Beds National Park.
