Overview:
Two different kinds of Broadway Summer Camps are being offered this summer:
PLANET BROADWAY: a unique opportunity to create a new musical!
Broadway Mini Camps: Learn Broadway Dance, Singing and Acting in a professional environment!
At the Ruhala Center, no experience is necessary to study and enjoy the performing arts. All that is required is a strong desire to learn new things, work hard, and take instruction well.
The Ruhala Center strives to offer the highest level of instruction and professionalism to its students at all ages and experience levels. Our final measurement is the character development of the students.
Description of schedule:
Each day is a wonderful ride of acting, song and dance.
*Students will learn Ruhala dance, acting and singing techniques through class work, rehearsal work, and improvisation exercises.
*Students will learn teamwork skills through ensemble theatre games and working in self directed group work. Students will gain stage presence through performing in rehearsals and the final public performances.
*Finally, students will discover inner confidence and self-esteem through their accomplishments and work ethic.
Campers begin with classes in acting, singing and dance. These classes are taught at a level where both beginners and advanced students can learn together.
For 6 week PLANET BROADWAY CAMP: Calling all writers, choreographers, composers, lyricists, creators, visionaries, and those interested in performing!
The arts historically have always been an agent of change. Planet Broadway is an opportunity for young people to make a change. Today's world is rapidly changing-make your ideas heard, inspire awareness, and stimulate thought through a creative collaboration with Broadway veterans and professionals. If you ever wanted to create a show and show people your talents, now is the time. Planet Broadway wants writers, composers, lyricists, choreographers, film directors, and performers to bring the joy and teamwork into the process of making a scintillating new show!
A NEW MUSICAL: NOW IS THE TIME! GIVE YOUR BEST AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE. 6 WEEKS OF HARD WORK AND EFFORT. 6 WEEKS OF UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES. WALK AWAY WITH A DVD OF YOUR WORK PRODUCED!
Throughout it all, spontaneity and independent thinking is valued and encouraged from both students and instructors. Discussions vary widely yet always connect back to the performing arts and the independent thinking which is paramount to artists.
