The By Land and Water week long day camp is a fun filled outdoor adventure program dedicated to teaching participants the skills necessary to participate in outdoor activities in and around the Boise area.

Day campers will learn the skills of tying-in to a harness, belaying, and scaling skill-appropriate climbing routes.  We will begin practicing in our state-of-the-art indoor climbing gym and then move to the Boise Black Cliffs, so that the campers may use their newfound abilities in a real life situation. The campers will also get the opportunity to learn how to paddle whitewater kayaks, observe river safety, and use a map and compass to navigate their way in teams around our orienteering course. And to wrap it all up, the campers will spend a day escaping the summer heat with a raft trip down the Boise River.

The Crooked Trails and Rising Mountains camp sessions are dedicated to backpacking and exploring the beautiful Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, outside of Stanley, Idaho.

Campers will learn what to bring and how to pack for wilderness advents along, forest creeks and mountain lakes. Throughout the trip, we will be practicing and implementing Leave No Trace techniques, examining local wildlife, and developing long lasting friendships.  On the last days of camp, the campers will have the opportunity for one last adventure with a whitewater rafting trip down the Main Payette just before returning to Boise.

The Jagged Peaks and Raging Rivers camp sessions focus on learning rock climbing and river skills.

On the first day campers will learn the skills of tying into a harness, belaying, teamwork and scaling skill-appropriate climbing routes in both our state-of-the-art indoor climbing gym.  The rest of the week campers will receive an introduction to whitewater kayaking and rafting by learning the basic techniques, skills and safety practices needed for participating in river activities.  Lastly, the overnight portion of the week will consist of playing in the sun and camping under the stars at a beautiful location along the Middle Fork of the Boise River.
