Camp Balcones Springs

Camp Balcones Springs, located in the beautiful Texas Hill Country just forty-five minutes outside of Austin, is a Christian summer camp for children ages 7-17 - but is so much more! Our mission is to change lives for the better through relationships, spiritual impact, and fun.

At CBS, our goal is to take the priceless summer camp experience and make it even better!  We have taken not-so-great features of traditional summer camps like bad food, poor accommodations, and overcrowding and improved these. Our kitchen prepares tasty, yet nutritious meals and is adept at handling any dietary issues. The cabins where our campers stay are complete with a full bathroom and are air-conditioned, ensuring a good night’s sleep despite the Texas heat. We limit the number of campers in a cabin to 8, which prevents overcrowding. This, paired with our excellent camper-to-counselor ratio - 4:1 (an industry best), allows our staff to build lasting relationships with campers that continue well beyond the summer.

Our one, two, and three week programs are jam-packed with many of opportunities to accomplish our mission. As soon as you and your camper set foot on our 250-acre property, our friendly staff is here to meet you and help you get situated to feel right at home. Upon the first night, campers dive right into one of our many traditions, that immediately makes them a part of our family. They get to choose from over 30 activities which they would prefer to learn or practice through their stay – creating an individualized schedule. We train our already experienced and qualified staff of counselors to be effective teachers - emphasizing proper techniques, safety, sportsmanship, and fun. Throughout the term, each camper will stretch his or her abilities and, with individualized instruction, develop new skills and confidence while building relationships with their fellow campers and counselors.

As a camp dedicated to impacting lives spiritually we value genuine faith lived out in an authentic way. We strive to inspire our campers to become people of integrity and character, who exhibit qualities of courage, honesty, compassion, and self-discipline. We are passionate about helping our campers grow into the people God created them to be. Daily Pow-wows, evening S.O.S., and BASEline on Sundays all help to emphasize spiritual growth in the lives of our campers.

We do all of this by creating an environment where campers can grow and learn, but also have tons of PHUN. Here at CBS, we believe there is so much fun happening that it just cannot be contained in three letters. From the activities and traditions to evening programs and dances, there really is so much PHUN built in to who we are and how we aim to impact lives.
