DescriptionBack to top

Welcome to camp Catherine Capers!  Join our unique family style community where each camper enjoys being important to her daily success as well as that of her horse, her friends and her camp. Her contribution is valued and part of constructive programs of fun, work and events.

Originally located on a dairy farm in Northern Vermont, Catherine Capers still maintains a family farm way of life. Now at Lake St Catherine in Southern Vermont, every camper takes care of a horse or small farm animal as well as helping do the chores to keep camp clean and safe.

Campers enjoy our multi specialty program which includes riding and swimming and many other activities offered throughout our 90 acre campus. Camp fires, cook outs, day excursions and overnight camping trips are scattered through out each week. Some, but not all campers choose, to compete in either intercamp or community horse shows.

Recognition of effort makes meals an exciting time of sharing. We take time to celebrate camper attempts and successes. This adds to the camaraderie as we sing silly songs and laugh a lot. Official Certificates of Achievement are awarded at a special campfire the night before campers go home.
