Chanco on the James has enjoyed a long trusted reputation as one of the oldest youth camping programs in Virginia. It has operated continuously for almost 40 years, since it’s founding in 1968. Camp Chanco is a residential camping experience for boys and girls 8-18 years old as an outdoor, age-appropriate program of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. It offers young people an enjoyable camping experience in a beautiful outdoor setting within a supportive, fun-loving community.
