Nestled on the scenic north shore of one of the great Adirondack Lakes, Camp Chateaugay's captivating wilderness is playground to campers of all abilities.
Built as a summer estate in 1917, the camp's character has evolved through many years. Today, modern activities and amenities, coupled with spectacular wilderness opportunity, make it foremost in a summer camp experience.
Exceptional instructors and counselors actively encourage self-discovery among campers, which in turn, promotes self-esteem. The opportunity to try new activities, gives campers the chance to find that they are talented in a sport or art that they might never have explored.
Campers are encouraged to participate in team sports, fostering a sense of community. They develop warm and lasting friendships, as attested to by the return of our campers . . . season to season; generation after generation. Campers feel good about themselves while learning respect for one another. This sets the groundwork for productive and successful lives. Chateaugay will continue to build on a solid foundation, forever seeking ways to provide a secure and supportive environment that nurtures the growth of its young people.
