The Camp Harkness Booster Club, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting in the funding of programs and special projects which benefit individuals with special challenges. Initiated in 1979, the Booster Club is committed to improving the quality of life for people with special needs. Through the generosity of a variety of funding souces such as grants, fund-raisers, and donations from the private sector and including companies such as United Parcel Post, Home Depot Inc., Purina Feed, McDonald's Children Charities, and the Town of Waterford the Booster Club is able to support a variety of programs and activities sponsored by the Camp. It has undertaken major capitol improvement projects such as the construction of all buildings, corrals, rings, and shelters in the barnyard area and has supported all aspects of the therapeutic equestrian facility including care, feeding, acquisition and veterinary costs of animals, provided all equipment, tack, grooming and cleaning tools, and all other facets. It has provided the initial funding to start programs such as the Therapeutic Horticulture Program, the exercise trail, dances, and socials. The Booster Club is committed to providing opportunities by aiding participants at Camp Harkness to live healty and productive lives; by offering a variety of opportunities this enables people to realize their full potential.
