Camp Harmony is located in Western Pennsylvania and is affiliated with the Western Pennsylvania District of the Church of the Brethren.

In addition to Summer Camping programs for children and youth Camp Harmony offers year-round Retreat Centers, a high and low elements challenge course which builds self-esteem and teamwork, a climbing tower, swimming pool and water slide.

Our goal is to provide a clean, wholesome environment where everyone can enjoy the beauty and peace found in nature.

Camp Harmony hosts a Church of the Brethren Heritage Festival and an annual Fall Harvest Gospel Festival over Labor Day weekend.

The Camp is situated in the heart of the Laurel Highlands overlooking the Quemahoning Dam in Somerset County and is surrounded by magnificent hardwood forest and pine trees.

Jump Start

3rd 4th 5th Grades

5/18 - 5/20

This is it! Your chance to get summer camp started early!  This retreat is all about adventure.  Be the first this year to cross the alligator pit, walk across the tight ropes, or learn to ski on grass.

Campers will learn to work together to get adventures accomplished. Teamwork and trust will be a necessity to get through the weekend and Jump Start has all of the right tasks to help build those skills. Its also a great chance to see what a full week at Camp Harmony can be like. 

Come on out to Jump Start and get your summer started right!

 

ROCK SOLID: Momentum

8th 1yr out of High School

6/24 - 6/30

Rock Solid: is going to be the event your Sr. High youth group talks about all summer long. ROCK SOLID: Momentum is more than just an average youth camp. We work hard to provide more than just great speakers and bands; our goal for ROCK SOLID is to give students a solid base from which to make lifes decisions.

At ROCK SOLID workshops are relevant, sessions are interactive and exciting, worship is energizing, small groups are mountain moving, and friendships are life changing.

Tell all of your friends, ROCK SOLID is the place to be this summer! 

 

Bike Trek

6th 8th Grades

6/24 - 6/29

Get off Camp! This year campers will load up their bikes and head out to explore a trail for most of the week.  Before they leave, campers will learn bike safety and general bike maintenance. Along the trail, bikers will learn how to cook over an open fire, make a proper shelter for the night, and other useful skills for camping

Get your bike tires pumped up and get out to Bike Trek. We offer everything except the merit badge.

 

Kinder Kritters

Kindergarten 1st Grade

7/3, 7/5, 7/6, 7/7

The full Camp Harmony experience, one day at a time! This program allows younger campers the chance to see what their big brothers and sisters do at camp all week long, without spending the night.

Campers arrive in the morning and will be assigned to the group they will spend the day making crafts with, swimming with, learning about God with, and doing all of the other exciting events camp has to offer.

Each day ends with a campfire so that immediate family can share in this great experience.

 

Young Explorers

2nd, 3rd Grades

7/5 - 7/7

A full week of fun and growing in 2 easy to handle days. The Young Explorers Camp is designed specifically for a young campers first overnight experience. Campers get to experience many of the events as full week campers do, such as swimming, Bible studies, recreation, more swimming, nature studies and swimming lessons.

This is a great way to ease into a lifetime of amazing memories at Camp Harmony!

 

Jr. Champ

3rd, 4th, 5th Grades

7/22 - 7/27

GOOOOOAAAAALLLL!!!!  Touchdown! Homerun! 3 pointer at the buzzer!  All in one week.  Jr. Champ camp gives campers the chance to gain skills in several sports during the week.  Coaches from area high schools and semi pro teams are brought in to go over the basics of each sport and make sure each camper can enjoy the games we all play. 

Because there is so much more to be gained by sports than simple skill, campers will be taught sportsmanship and how to place sports and competition in a healthy balance with the rest of their lives.

Campers will also participate in regular camp activities such as cookouts, crafts and Bible studies.

Get out! Get active! Get to Jr. Champ camp!

 

Varsity

6th, 7th,8th Grades

7/22 - 7/27

Discovery

3rd, 4th, 5th, Grades

7/22 - 7/27

Is that the big dipper or the little dipper? Can you see Mercury with your naked eye? All of these questions and more will be answered as campers experience Discovery camp.

Along with all of the camps regular activities such as hiking, swimming, Bible studies, and crafts, Discovery campers will spend their nights gazing at the skies and exploring the constellations. Skilled educators will guide campers through the wonders of Gods heavenly creations.

So bring your sleeping bag and a wide open sense of wonder and discover the stars at Discovery camp!

 

Wilderness Canoe

6th, 7th, 8th Grades

7/22 - 7/27

Join Pete and Janice Kaltenbaugh as they guide you through three days and 45 miles of life on the water.

Wilderness Canoe camp starts here at Camp Harmony and moves to Warren County and the Allegheny River. The canoeing adventure begins just below the Kinzua Dam and concludes 45 miles away. Along the way you should be able to spot bald eagles, river otters and even get the chance to go fishing for bass and walleye. Campers will spend their nights on islands or on the banks of the river.

This camp is for beginners and many canoeing techniques will be taught. A small amount of personal equipment will be needed, but the canoeing equipment will be provided.

Grab your life vest and a sense of adventure and make sure you come out to Wilderness Canoe camp!

 

Trailblazers

6th,7th,8th Grades

7/29 - 8/3

Its time to saddle up at Camp Harmony! Along with all of the excitement of swimming, singing, campfires, and playing games, Trailblazer campers travel off camp to spend some time riding, feeding, grooming, and learning all about horses.

Campers also experience a great week at camp, participating in exciting Bible Studies, ropes course challenges and awesome camp games!

Bring your cowboy hat and a sense of adventure to Trailblazers.

 

Outdoor Adventure

3rd,4th,5th Grades

7/29 - 8/3

Take a hike! No seriously, come to Camp Harmony and take a hike. Outdoor Adventure campers will spend a few hours off camp to explore the wealth of hiking trails available to western PA. Along the way they will learn nature conservation, wilderness identification, and other basic hiking skills.

Outdoor Adventure campers will also spend time on camp swimming, making crafts, studying the Bible, making smores over a campfire, singing and playing games that make camp so much fun.

Find your hiking boots and come learn in the classroom God built for us.

 

Camp in the Rough

3rd,4th,5th Grades

7/29 - 8/3

Its like one big sleep-out with all of your friends! Campers sleep in tents or under the open skies during this week of roughing it.  Campers will be taught outdoor adventure skills such as building the right kind of fire, cooking over a fire, lashing, and wilderness identification, all at a level designed just for them.

Camp in the Rough campers will also participate in regular camp activities such as swimming, hiking, Bible studies, crafts and recreation.

Performing Arts

8th 1yr out of High School

8/5 - 8/11

All the world is a stage! Come find out your role in the play. At Performing Arts camp, campers will have a chance to work on acting, directing, music, scenery, and every other aspect of staging a work to be performed at the end of the camp.

Area professionals will be brought in to teach blocking, improvisational acting, character development, stage craft (scenery), and vocal and instrumental performance. Performing Arts camp also teaches youth to take the spotlight off of themselves and instead shine a light for the rest of the world to see.  This is truly a unique opportunity in the western PA area for youth to grow in their artistic expression.

 

Clown Camp

3rd,4th,5th Grades

8/5 - 8/11

This is the one place where adults will never yell at you for clowning around! Campers in clown camp will have a blast making up their clown characters and learning balloon art, face painting, and the art of making others laugh.

Clowns will take to the stage during the Performing Arts weekend at Camp Harmony. They will entertain the crowd during breaks and take the spotlight as an opening act for Performing Arts camp.

Clown campers will also spend time during the week at Bible studies, swimming, making crafts, cooking out and having campfires.

So make a weird face and let it get stuck like that at Clown camp!

 

Human Video

6th,7th,8th Grades

8/5 - 8/11

Theres a message in every song. Human Video campers will work with skilled resource people to develop a way to express themselves through various types of dramas, such as mime and dance dramas set to current music.

Campers will steal the spotlight as an opening act during the Performing Arts weekend at Camp Harmony.    

Human Video campers will also spend time during the week at Bible studies, swimming, making crafts, cooking out and having campfires.

Extreme Adventure

6th,7th,8th Grades

8/12 - 8/17

Grab a paddle and head on out to Extreme Adventure Camp at Camp Harmony! Campers will spend their days on the trail to Ohiopyle where they will jump in a beginners raft trip and travel down the Lower Youghiogheny river. Extreme Adventure is geared just right for Jr. High. Lots of challenges, lots of adventure, lots of fun.

 

Wilderness Adventure

9th,10th,11th,12th Grades

8/12 - 8/17

The next step in camping adventures! Wilderness Adventure campers take life on the trail seriously. They spend their days on the trail learning about nature and wilderness crafting. Nights are spent along the trails reminiscing over a nice hot meal cooked on a campfire they made. Wilderness Adventure campers experience God in all the glory of nature and live by the motto If you cant carry it, you dont need it.

Come take a week to explore creation and find out what youre made of.

 

Quest for Creation

3rd,4th,5th Grades

8/12 - 8/17

Lions and tigers and bears - oh my! Ok, while we may not have lions or tigers in Western PA, we do have an amazing amount of awesome wildlife to learn from. Quest for Creation is the place to be to learn all about our surroundings here in the beautiful Laurel Highlands. Everyday is an interactive experience as our resource leaders guide campers through the plants and animals God has placed here for us to learn from and take care of. Of course there will be plenty of time for campfires, singing, swimming, and all around good camp fun.

 

Family Camp

All ages

8/17 8/19

It seems that its just getting harder and harder to get time away from the hustle and bustle of life and spend valuable time with your family. Camp Harmony has a solution! Family Camp is your opportunity to bring young and old together for an amazing weekend of fun and community.  The rates are family friendly so you can bring grandma and grandpa along with you. Stay in Harmony Lodge, a cabin or even bring along your RV or tent. Theres always room for you at Camp Harmonys Family Camp.

 

Winter Blizzard

5th, 6th,7th, 8th, Grades

1/25/08 - 1/26/08

Camp Harmony is more than just swimming and building birdhouses. Its also sledding and building snowmen. At Winter Blizzard, Jr. High youth get a chance to spread their snow angel wings and learn about the God who created them. Intermixed with awesome games and activities, campers learn and grow from exciting sessions and times of worship.

Winter Blast

8th 1yr out of High School

Its February. Its cold out. Theres no more football. How can you make this otherwise dull month exciting? Come to Winter Blast, thats how.  We will mix up unique games such as the Insane Snowman Competition with unbelievable sessions and worship that will get you excited about what really matters in life, our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Dont miss out on the coolest weekend of the year!  

 

Arctic Camp

2nd, 3rd, 4th grades

2/22/08 - 2/23/08

This is your chance to play in the snow without Mom fussing with your mittens and scarf. We'll do all the things the big kids do, but with shorter steps. Trek to the Frozen North (Somerset County) and join the Arctic Camp.
