An all-around, try stuff, get dirty, have fun, make friends summer camp located in Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley! One and two week programs for ages 6-17.

Journey Program, ages 6-11, entering grades 1-6

The Journey Program is for our younger campers and includes two programming options: Discover and Pathfinder. Campers stay in cabins with dedicated counselors and get to explore the many programs at Camp Horizons, including sports, arts and crafts, nature, aquatics, horseback riding, performing arts and more!

Explorer Program, ages 12-16, entering grades 7-11
The Explorer Program is one of two choices for our teenage campers. Explorer campers choose two morning activity workshops each week, and spend afternoons in a variety of activities of their choosing including high ropes, caving, rock climbing, mountain biking, river tubing, performing arts workshops, radio station, and more.

Adventure Program, ages 13-16, entering grades 7-11

The Adventure Program is designed for campers who want a more rustic outdoor experience. Campers live in platform tents with bunk beds and spend almost all of their time in the outdoors with their small co-ed group. Activities include: low ropes initiatives, high ropes course, backpacking, canoe trip, climbing wall, rock climbing and more.

Counselor in Training (CIT) Program, rising high school seniors

Our CIT Program, a four-week leadership program for rising high school seniors, is designed to train potential Camp Horizons counselors in leadership, small group development, camper characteristics, camper needs and challenges, and Camp Horizons’ philosophies and policies.
