DescriptionBack to top

Camp Shachar is a Torah-observant summer tour program bringing together teenagers throughout North America together with teenagers throughout Israel, creating lifelong friendships and an unforgettable summer of pure fun. The Camp Shachar "Israel Experience" covers all aspects of Israel's beauty and excitement - from all kinds of water sport activities on the beaches of Eilat, hikes ending at waterfalls, banana boats and snorkeling in the Red Sea to relaxing on the beaches of the Mediterranean, mountain climbing, survival/wilderness training, rappelling, and many other once-in-a-lifetime adventures.

About the Campers

Our campers come together from all over the United States.

The trip is divded into 2 age groups.

The Tzirim group (current 7th & 8th graders) will spend the entire 6 weeks in Israel and enjoy all of the attractions and adventures that Israel has to offer.

Every year, the Bogrim group (current 9th-11th graders) spend the first part of their 6-week Israel program touring different European cities and see fantastic attractions as well as vibrant Jewish life in Europe. This year Camp Shachar is headed to Italy & Spain for 10 days before embarking to Israel.

Both groups gain important leadership skills and develop a strong sense of identity and independence through Camp Shachar's special projects. These projects include chesed (charity) activities, meetings with members of the Knesset, mini-military training, and group cooperation.

As camp progresses, campers "write home" through our online adventure journal; pictures are posted frequently on our website.  Parents are further kept informed through weekly email updates.
