DescriptionBack to top

The Diabetes Youth Foundation camp is the only camp in Indiana operated and designed exclusively for children with diabetes.  We are in Indiana, helping Indiana youth.

It is our passion and our privilege to help these children and teens.  We do this by:

Offering a summer camping program that exposes children and teens to the latest in diabetes treatment and management.

Providing diabetes education classes every day to every camper.

Combining our camp program with daily science classes and hands on activities. The earth, physical and life science classes are designed and led by a nationally recognized Science teacher.

Encouraging children and teens with diabetes by placing them in a support system of kids just like them.

Bringing in local, regional and national role models to speak to the kids about living with and thriving with diabetes.

Offering one of the best high ropes courses in the state and then letting the campers successfully master it, diabetes and all.

Explaining the physical, mental and emotional aspects of diabetes.

Offering scholarships for all DYF programs and activities and supplying free diabetes supplies needed for these activities and/or trips.

Providing healthy, balanced meals at camp and explaining the role food plays with diabetes.

Continually improving and upgrading our camp, programs and activities.

Being a fiscally responsible not-for-profit thus guaranteeing that there will always be a camping home for children with diabetes in Indiana.

Meeting and exceeding the national camping standards set by the American Camp Association

Participating in the Diabetes Education Camping Association.
