Camp Winding Gap SUMMER ADVENTURES
Activity choice and limited enrollment are key ingredients to a successful summer experience!
Unlike many larger camps, our campers choose their daily activities after they arrive in camp and become familiar with what is offered. Activity sign-ups take place every two to three days.Ê This system allows campers to experience a wider variety of activities during their stay. Campers can choose to continue in programs they are enjoying, or change some of them to try out new ones.
Our enrollment is limited to 50 campers per session.
Our low staff:camper ratio is 1:3. This high level of supervision means that your child will receive individualized attention throughout their stay.Ê No one is lost in the crowd at Camp Winding Gap!Ê We believe in a strong family atmosphere, where children should be allowed to grow, learn, play, and have fun, but in a safe and secure atmosphere.Ê At night the children are never left alone, there is always a staff member present and on duty inside each camper cabin.
Daily activities chosen by the campers can include:
Canoeing, climbing, crafts, archery, riflery, swimming, western riding, mountain biking, foreign language, guitar, animal care, kayaking, photography, computer gaming, cooking, martial arts, woodworking, sewing, games, aerobics, soccer, and many others.Ê Evening Programs and Special activities can include Bingo & Games, Talent Night, Dinner Dance, Sixties Dances, Mystery Flashlight Hikes, Crazy Day, Walkin Taco Movie Night, Beach Parties, Barn Dances, All-camp overnights, Carnivals and so much more!
The Animal Care Program offers campers the opportunity to learn about, care for and feed our camp animals.Ê Our animals are kept at the camp year round and include miniature donkeys, bunnies, chickens, puppies, kittens, cats, dogs, goats and of course our ferret.
