Program Description(Tentative):

    1. Two Chinese Language units: With a focus on kids’ overall four Chinese proficiency areas, drilling their Chinese communication skills and elevating their reading and writing ability.  

    2. Math curriculum is based on student interest and levels, including but not limited to PSAT/SAT math questions, math contest preparation, and puzzles. This course will be taught in English.   

    3. Chinese Theater Play or puppet show: each student will be assigned with a role in a Chinese theater play. At the end of summer section, students will perform at the celebration (parents are invited). 

    4. Dance or Wu Shu or Sports activities 

    5. Chinese Culture: Chinese calligraphy, Chinese singing, handcrafts and Chinese music, along which related Chinese geography and history will be introduced to the students.  

    6. Game and Story time: A number of traditional Chinese games will be taught and played at this session.  Story sequel in Chinese will be read to the students and be read by the students (assignment will be given to each student). 

 

Our general principle is to encourage active participation, teach learning skills, increase students’ confidence and responsibility, and create a fun and efficient learning environment. Many students will be given responsibilities to help the class and teachers. 

Southern Connecticut Chinese School (SCCS) is delighted to announce a 2 week Chinese summer camp in New Haven: 

August 16 – August 27, 2010

Core Camp time: 9am to 4:30 pm.  

Before camp:  8 am to 9 am 

After camp:  4:30pm to 6 pm   

$550 Core Camp for the entire two weeks (Same as 2008)

$580 Include before and after program fee for the entire two weeks

(Daily rate before and after program fee will be $10 for both morning and afternoon hours. )

Registration fee $20 per family

 

Late Registration fee (Starting August 1, 2010) $40 per family

Family discounts of 5% for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, …… children
