Imagine a world full of horses, kids and fun. This is truly a place children call their second home. For a week, young 'uns own their very own horse and wake up to a world where buffalos do rome.
Located in beautiful central Minnesota, the Circle R Ranch is a unique Summer Horse Camp that offers a rich experience for youngsters ages 7 through 16. The Circle R Ranch is an 800-plus acre working ranch.
The summer horse camp season runs June through August of each calendar year. Our facilities are top-notch. The main bunkhouse sports a walk-out basement recreation room, dining room and kitchen. Bunkhouse and cabins house campers and counselors. The swimming pool and tennis court add to the summer enjoyment and are just around the corner from the bunkhouse and corral. Meals are served cafeteria-style and everyone helps themselves to as much as they want, including seconds.
One of the goals at the Circle R Ranch is to teach youngsters the safe way to ride and handle horses. Instructors give basic instruction on horsemanship. Each child learns to groom, and saddle a horse. Horses are assigned as to the child's riding capability for the coming week.
Our staff members are well qualified people of college age with the requirements to see that each young wrangler gets the most out of his or her stay at the Circle R Ranch.
All activities at the Circle R are supervised by CRR staff.
Besides the 200 plus horses, there are many other animals for the children's enjoyment. Dogs, kittens, rabbits, cats, ducks, turkey, two goats, three llamas, potbelly pig and Pawnee the buffalo just to name a few of the animals around the ranch.
