Classy Girls Camp was founded in 2008 by Marlie Winslow, a local high school student from Wrightsville Beach.  She became inspired to create a camp to encourage young girls to embrace class, modesty, and natural beauty.  Since she, herself, was a beach girl at heart, she put the Wrightsville Beach stamp on CGC by making sure that beachy elements were included in the camp schedule, from shell jewelry to boogie-boarding.  The camp is an attempt to allow little girls to just be little girls!  They don't need to be glittery or gossipy- they can just be themselves!

At the end of your daughter's week in Classy Girls Camp, she will have made at least eight new best friends.  The camp is designed to allow the campers to bond through fun and creative activities, like making a skit, learning the tango, making a beach glass bracelet, or sewing their own pillow.  Many of our activities are based around "lost arts" that have been modernized in our camp, like sewing, cooking, making jewelry, and ballroom dancing.  We also daily go to the beach or pool for some time to hang out with their new friends.

Each day of our camp has a theme for the day, from birthday party etiquette and classy shopping to friendship etiquette and natural beauty day.  The lessons of the day are based upon this theme.  For example, on birthday party day, we would learn about writing thank-you cards and learning how to appreciate even the most heinous gifts (like that fuzzy sweater from Grandma).  Each girl on that day would have to bring a really bad gift, and then we'd practice opening them and saying "thank you".

This camp is really created to enrich female youth and allow them to appreciate themselves away from the plastic pop culture!  It's a ton of fun and your child will never forget her time at Classy Girls Camp and all the friends she made.
