Education Unlimited offers multiple versions of the College Admission Prep Camp that covers SAT Prep, Personal Statement Writing and College Counseling for grades 11-12, plus our Prep Camp Excel, offering PSAT Prep, Essay Writing, and Study Skills for students grades 9-10. At the original College Admission Prep Camp, students will meet with our experienced instructors who employ Test Scholars' proven curriculum, familiarizing students with the actual test, teaches test-taking strategies, and develops sound reasoning skills. Every student gets hours of one-on-one consulting with expert writing instructors to discuss topics for the Personal Statement, the structure, style and grammatical aspects of the essay and go over drafts and revisions together in your individual sessions. Students will also meet one on one with a College Counselor. The counseling component of the CAPC helps students identify schools best suited for them, and covers the development of time management and interviewing skills. CAPC Intensive is a longer, 18-day version of our College Admission Prep Camp. An even more in-depth version of our CAPC curriculum, students at CAPC Intensive will: get over 50 hours of SAT prep and take 5 full-length practice SAT tests to give them test-taking practice that closely mimics the actual SAT. They will write three personal statement essays, ready or nearly ready for submission with their applications, and meet with two college guidance instructors so they receive plenty of feedback and insight about their personal college admission decisions. At CAPC Intensive, student multiple fun excursions around the area such as campus visits to Stanford and UC Santa Cruz and a full day white-water rafting excursion. At Prep Camp Excel, 9th-12th grade students focus on the critical skills for success in high school and get a head-start on building impressive academic resumes. Prep Camp Excel seeks to offer the same type of strategy and preparation that usually is reserved for the SAT. Our exclusive curriculum teaches math and verbal skills as well as vocabulary building. Students will have the opportunity to work individually with writing teachers and will bring home one of the best essays they have ever written, with the knowledge of how to write more essays like it. The Study Skills portion of the program helps students deal with the transition from one hour of homework in junior high to balancing several hours of homework and extracurricular activities in high school. Students will receive instruction on time management, effective note taking, reading for meaning, and exam preparation
