Community Service - South Africa by 360 is a 25-day cultural exchange and service program. This program features 35 hours of community service and recreational activities.

We work with Viva Safaris, our main host who will serve as our liason for The Sihlekisi Primary School in Acornhoek, South Africa. At the core of this service program and visit to South Africa is our cultural exchange program. We will teach local children practical English skills and we will learn their local language of Shaangan. We will teach land sports such as ultimate Frisbee and hackey sack – objects these children have never seen, and they will teach us their version of soccer and other sports.  In addition we will visit a local tribal village and a township outside of Cape Town. Both of these visits will immerse us in the lives of the members of the communities and teach us about their food, shelter, music, dance and traditions. This program offers an eye opening experience into the African way of life through friendship, travel and understanding.

 Recreational & Cultural Highlights include: 2 day authentic African Safari in open land rovers, White water raft the Blyde Canyon River, Kayaking, Obstacle course, partake in a traditional African drumming session complete with lessons, music and dance, and much more!

Groups are generally 12-24 participants and most come by themselves, which we strongly encourage.  A maximum of 2 may come together.  Participants must be prepared for our program.  Service days may last as long as 8 hours of physical labor, come rain or shine.

A certificate recognizing the total number of hours of service and listing the projects accomplished is issued upon program completion.  We complete 35 hours of total service.
