Houston SPCA Critter Camp

For kids that love animals and those future veterinarians - this is the camp for you!  There are four camps to choose from: Animal Welfare, Animal Kingdom, Dog & Cat, and the Tween Camp.  All campers will get to play with cute puppies and kitties!  Each week of camp will be filled with age-appropriate crafts, games, activities, and many interactions with shelter pets!   Space is limited to 15 campers for a one-week camp, so sign up quickly!  Fee includes all craft materials, camp T-shirt, and afternoon snack and drink.  Campers must bring a lunch each day.  For registration information, please contact Amber Benn at (713)869-7722 ext. 143 or email education@hspca.org


Animal Welfare Camp subjects are: Learning about the Houston SPCA, Take 'Em to the Vet, Adoption Day, Animal Issues & Exotic Animals, and Endangered Animals & How we can help.  

Animal Kingdom Camp subjects are: Fish, Mammals, Birds, Insects, and Reptiles & Amphibians. 

The Dog & Cat Camp focuses on the characteristics and care of dogs and cats. 

The Tween Camp includes activities such as walking dogs, dog washing, training, and visiting with cats as well as farm animals.  Tween campers will also be introduced to several careers working with animals. 

 

Location: Houston SPCA at 900 Portway Drive, Houston, TX 77024

Time: 9am to 3pm, Monday - Friday

Fee: $200 per child for a one-week session

(and $150 for each additional week or sibling)
