With a great balance of academics and activities, summer at Delphi Academy is a fun adventure of learning. Kids learn new study skills and athletic abilities, experience new activities and make great friends. To enroll, parents must tour the school and students will spend one evaluation day at Delphi prior to summer to ensure correct placement. The Summer Session lasts 8 weeks; kids may minimally enroll any 4 consecutive weeks. The classes are roughly divided as follows: Beginner 1 - ages 4-5 Beginner 2 - ages 5-6 Form 1 - ages 7-8 (2nd grade) Form 2 - ages 8-9 (3rd grade) Form 3 - ages 9 - 11 (4th/5th grade) Form 4 - ages 10 - 12 (5th/6th grade) Form 5 - ages 12 - 13 (7th/8th grade) CAMPING TRIPS: Forms 1 & 2 - Saratoga Springs July 17 - 19 - Less than 30 min. away from campus, this wooded campsite offers many activities & is safe & perfect for a first camping trip. Form 2 - Memorial Park - August 1 - 3 - A favorite destination each summer with swimming, hiking & campfires on 499 acres of old-growth redwoods. Kids enjoy the creeks & wading hole that forms each summer. Forms 3, 4 & 5 - Half Moon Bay - July 18 - 20 - Beachfront camping less than an hour from campus! Enjoy 2 miles of sandy shore, coastal trails, fishing & fun with friends. Forms 3, 4 & 5 - Anthony Chabot Regional Park - August 7 - 10 - Camping, fishing, hiking, horseback riding, pedal boating & canoeing make this camping trip in the Oakland hills one not to miss! WORKSHOPS: Beginner 2, Forms 1, 2 & 3 - BASEBALL CAMP - Kids will learn the rules & techniques with Coach Ernie Sarinana, training & playing 3 afternoons/week over 3 weeks. It all leads up to the Big Game Playoffs with picnic & barbeque! Held in 2 sessions: Form 2&3 - June 25 - July 12; Beg. 2 & Form 1 - July 30 - Aug 17. Forms 3, 4 & 5 - SILENT MOVIE MAKING - Kids work in teams to write, direct & act in their own silent movies, then edit them on our state-of-the-art iMac computers. This project wraps up with a spectacular Premiere & the "Delphi Academy Awards"! Delphi Summer Camp runs for eight weeks of summer, from June 25 - August 17. It is an all-day program, going from 8:30 a.m. - 5:15 p.m. though childcare is also available before and after. Campers must enroll for a minimum of four consecutive weeks.
