ESRA Summer Programs offers professional training in filmmaking, creative screenwriting, french cinema history and audiovisual software training to students aged of 16 or more who have an interest in the field of cinema. Students can attend our NYC location in the financial district of Manhattan or our Paris destination in a very cosy area near the Eifell Tower for 1 week to 4 weeks program.

Students learn to complete their own production during most of our programs. They also can enjoy in Paris or NYC various cultural attractions and extra-curricular activities.

All our programs are offered in Paris and NYC.

Filmmaking

Students are given strong basics on the theory of filmmaking and hands on with the equipment, they attend lectures with professionnals and then shoot a short movie on digital video and edited on computer and DVD. Students will be divided in small teams for each project.

Screenwriting

Students are offered lectures and workshops on screenwriting, the narrative structure and how to complete a screenplay. Students achieve the writing of a 3 min short movie and have the opportunity to shoot it in the Filmmaking program. Students are approx. 15 per program44.

History of French Cinema

Students are offered lectures on french cinema since its beginning from the glorious 30s to the post war New Wave and the social and Political form in the late 70s. Students are approx. 15 per program.

Video Editing and Sound Design

1 week intensive programs on Final Cut Pro and Pro Tools are offered to small groups in our Paris and NYC location.
