DescriptionBack to top

Description: World-renowned Reynolds Plantation Resort offers 81 holes of golf designed by Jack Nicklaus, Tom Fazio, and Rees Jones. The campers begin each golf day with a clinic given by a "special guest," followed by 3 hours of instruction by PGA golf professionals, and then a competitive 18-hole round of golf.

Anytime Jack Nicklaus unveils one of his signature courses, it is big news in the golf world. But in the fall of 1992, when Great Waters at Reynolds Plantation opened, it stirred a rush of excitement within the golf community that was extraordinary, even by Nicklaus standards.

Who should attend an ELITE Scoring-Game Camp

The ELITE Scoring Game Golf Camp is designed for the competitive male and female junior golfer. The camp does not focus on swing mechanics.  You know how to play. Now we are going to teach you how to score.

The focus of this camp is three-fold.
1) Short Game
2) Mental Preparation
3) Tournament Preparation

All three of these areas will be intertwined to teach you how to become an excellent golfer.

Cost
The camp cost listed will cover all on-site expenses, room, meals, greens fees, range balls, instruction, FCA Athlete Bible, camp T-shirt, prizes, insurance, and nightly recreational activities.

Accomodations
Campers will stay in cottages that border the Great Waters Golf Course.

Meals
All meals will be provided from dinner on Thursday through breakfast on Sunday. We will provide snacks and drinks at specific times. Water is always available. Money will only be needed for incidentals.

Golf
Campers will walk, but a staff person, in a cart, will be with each group.

Instruction
We are providing some of the world's best instruction. All we ask of the campers is that they have a desire to be the best that they can be and to respect the other campers. Take home products and aids are available for purchase at
the end of camp.

Travel Plans

Transportation to and from camp is the responsibility of the camper. Contact the Golf Camp Director (listed to the left) for pickup and drop-off guidelines for the airport. Campers should plan to arrive at camp on the day camp begins and leave the day camp ends. Early arrivals will have an additional cost.

Scholarships

To make our camps available to as many junior golfers as possible, FCA may provide limited scholarship help to those who have a need. Inquiries about scholarship assistance can be made to the FCA Golf Ministry, (904) 273-9541, or your local FCA Office.

CORE INSTRUCTORS
These world-renowned instructors will cover most any shot you can come across in your typical round.

Scoring & Trouble Shots:
Tom Fowler, PGA Head PGA pro at The Oconee Golf Course at the Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation.

Charles McLendon, PGA Head Pro of Club Fitting at Reynolds Plantation and Director of the TaylorMade Performance Lab will lead instruction on the most important part to shooting low numbers. That is the short game.

Mental Performance:
Dr. Bryant Harris is a licensed professional counselor and a sports performance coach. Currently, Bryant is an Assistant Coach at Kennesaw State University where he is also the Sports Performance Coach. Dr. Harris works alongside the American Junior Golf Association tour, the SJGT and the NGAHooters Tour. He also consults with professionals from the PGA, Nationwide, and Canadian tours.

Course Management, Tournament Preparation, Practice Methods:
Gary Guyer, Executive Director of American Junior Golf Federation and PGA Apprentice, has directed golf camps for over seven years and worked with hundreds of junior golfers. Gary focuses on working with juniors on their course management and strategies as well as pre-shot routine. Another area of concentration is getting golfers to know their individual club yardages and use it to their advantage on the course.
