Our program is designed to promote the education of riders, whether it is their first experience on horseback, or they are fine tuning their riding skills for competition. Riders between the ages of 5-17 are encouraged to attend. The cost $300.00 and includes your horse, equipment, and only 5 riders per group. Each session allows 10 students, so spots will fill quickly. Hours for each camp session are 9:30am to 3:30pm. The first day will begin with introductions to Foxwoode as well as horse assignments for the week. That is the special part of our clinic, you are able to ride the same horse for the entire session, allowing you to really become comfortable with grooming, handling and riding that horse. Confidence develops into skill, which produces a good riding foundation, and good Horsemanship! Please bring the following items to camp each day: º A sack lunch (refrigeration provided) º A water bottle (refrigeration provided) º Shoe or boot with heel, long pants, and polo/t-shirt to ride in Each session will include the following daily activities: 2, 1 hour group lessons per day - riders will be placed into groups of 5 students or less with peers of the same ability and riding discipline; a ground lesson on basic horsemanship, (such as clipping, grooming, tack care, horse care safety, veterinary care, wrapping technique, bathing, etc.);and, a classroom activity. Riders will have a lunch break each day where they can share their experiences with other riders as well as make new friends. The last day of each camp session will conclude with a team competition and knowledge bowl. Riders will be placed on teams and compete for prizes with competition both on and off the horse—parents are welcome to attend. To reserve your spot for 2011, please mail or drop off your registration form and a $75 non-refundable deposit to Foxwoode Hunt Club Foxwoode Hunt Club reserves the right to cancel any session due to lack of participation, and will refund all monies if we cancel. Refunds less $25 administration fee will be given if rider must pull out of clinic due to extenuating circumstances.
