Beginner Camp

This camp is ideal for first time LEGO® Robotics users.

In groups of two, participants will learn how to set up their computers and their infra-red tower and prepare their control unit (RCX).

They will learn how to build basic autonomous robots and how to use the Robolab/Mindstorms ™ programming language for simple applications.

They will be able to practice designing, building, and modifying their robotic devices to meet challenges.

They will build a robot that will find its way through a maze and follow a black line using touch and light sensors.  Every day brings a new fun challenge.

Parents are welcome Friday afternoon to watch their child’s robot in action.

Intermediate Camp

Expand on your knowledge of

LEGO® Robotics.

If you’ve had some experience with the Robotics Invention System™ and Robolab™, then this is the camp for you.  The New Mindstorms NXT will be used.  Participants can bring their own Robotics kit but we are not responsible for lost or broken parts.

In this week-long camp, participants will learn about designing advanced gears, building multi-tasking programs, and constructing decision-making robots using various sensors.

You will create real robots that will execute specific programs. The robot will be able to detect obstacles and move around them.

Parents are welcome Friday afternoon to watch their child’s robot in action.
