DescriptionBack to top

The Global Youth Village (GYV), located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, is designed to prepare young people to live with flexibility, creativity, and compassion in our multicultural world. Young people (ages 13-18) from 20 different countries gather at our campus for 3 weeks of training each summer. They form a living, working model of our global community. Young people who are interested in international relations, conflict management, the environment, leadership, global issues, music, and community service gain many skills during their training. For our 2007 session, we are offering the following dynamic workshops:

Mass Media and You

Middle Eastern Music

Green Your world

Global Issues

Workshops are taught by highly qualified instructors and the staff at the Village are committed to creating a safe and secure environment where each individuals personal best can emerge.

When participants are not in workshops, they are engaging in stimulating recreational activities such as swimming, rock climbing, cultural events, dance, pottery, soccer, and much more.

This year we are also offering a 6 week Arabic Language training program in Morocoo! Legacy International, in partnership with the American Language Center of Marrakesh is offering a 6-week intensive Arabic Language program in Morocco for 10 students in June and July of 2007!  This project is being sponsored by the US State Department.  The program will provide formal language instruction by native speakers in Modern Standard Arabic and will allow participants to be immersed in the Arabic speaking world though home stays, site visits, student roundtables and lectures.

 Applicants must be US Citizens.
