Idyllwild Arts Summer Program - Performing Arts
The Summer Program offers intensive performing arts workshops for students 9-25 years of age. Most programs are two weeks in length and students enroll according to their ages. For children 9-12, there are workshops in dance, musical theatre, theatre and piano. For students 11-13, the Junior Artist Center offers three two-week theatre programs and two two-week dance programs. For high school age students, 14-18, there are two two-week workshops in intensive dance, an intensive two-week musical theatre workshop entitled Song and Dance, two three-week sessions of intensive theatre, and many two-week sessions in band, chamber music, choir, jazz, orchestra and piano.
At Idyllwild, we’re here to educate the whole you—the artist and the scholar. So that means every weekday morning, starting at 8:00 AM, you’ll be taking a range of academic coursework. Our academic curriculum provides a strong college-preparatory program, challenging you to think critically, to creatively blend your intellectual and artistic perspectives, and to discover a passion for life-long learning. As a result, our graduates are well prepared to enter the leading colleges and universities—as they often do.
