INTERCEPT FOR TEENS AND YOUNG ADULTS
Intercept (formerly Ascent) offers year round wilderness expeditions for teens and young adults beginning to demonstrate destructive behavior. Intercept is not for hard-core juveniles. We talk to dozens of parents every month who say that their child is struggling, but because he or she is not on drugs or has not committed a crime, they are unable to find a program to help their teen. Intercept expeditions are one of the few programs purposefully designed to address the needs of teens and young adults who are not in serious trouble…yet. We offer challenging 24- or 28-day wilderness expeditions that can airlift your teen out of what may be unhealthy routines or negative environments, and into awe-inspiring surroundings, where he or she can gain a fresh perspective on life. You'll join us for the last three days of the program, in a pivotal and productive workshop with instructors and your child. To sign up for a course or to learn more, please call an Admissions Advisor in our National Sales Center as soon as possible at toll-free 866-467-7651. Who Is It For? Intercept is designed to help struggling teens ages 14 to 17 and young adults 18 to 20 years old from all over the United States wanting to transition their lives in more meaningful and positive directions. :

  • Poor school performance
  • Anger management
  • Defiance
  • Low motivation
  • Risky behaviors such as experimenting with drugs or alcohol, sneaking out, or truancy.

We've designed this course not for serous juvenile offenders, but to be an early intervention for teens who may have started down a self-destructive path, but who have not yet burned any vital bridges.

We cannot accept kids who:

  • Are chronic runaways or drug users
  • Have a history of suicide attempts
  • Have a pattern of violent behavior
  • Are not stable due to a diagnosed mood disorder or a recently prescribed medication

We fully understand that your teen may not be highly motivated to come here. We do, however, require that they agree to participate and follow our rules.
