Journeys Into American Indian Territory
Summer Address:
Eastport, New York, United StatesIf you'd like to learn the traditions of the Native Americans directly from the people who keep them alive today, you're like thousands of people who have participated in our various programs since 1987.
Native American teachings have been handed down for generations in an oral tradition. Join us on a Journey and become a part of that tradition. Learn first-hand through your own adventures about the old and modern ways uncovered in regions throughout Indian Country. Journeys into American Indian Territory has three branches that promote building bridges of understanding between the worlds of Native Americans and non-Native people. Educational travel programs: These are cultural immersion experiences or "tours" held in areas throughout Indian Country and vary from one year to the next.
Children's school programs: In-house field trips that provide access for children into the lifeways of Plains and Eastern Woodland Peoples. Native American Community Action Network: A listing of organizations that you can work with in order to help out, and make a positive difference in Indian Country.
