DescriptionBack to top

For the past seven years Kansas City Sailing and Perry Yacht Club have offered sailing camps to individuals and groups.  We have a fleet of Sunfish and Sweet 16s, as well as various keelboats for participants to learn on.

Sessions last three days (Friday through Sunday) and participants can sign up for all sessions of the summer, expanding their skills during each session.

Participants learn basic sailing skills, vocabulary, safety, and teamwork.  Even those who have never sailed are able to do so by the end of one session.

We accept individuals or groups to sailing camp.  In the past we have had groups of 5-15 schedule their own sessions.

All sessions are supervised by adults who are certified sailing instructors (by the American Sailing Association).  The Camp Director is Bruce Liese who has been a University of Kansas Professor for 23 years.  Bruce is also a PhD Psychologist and U.S.C.G. Licensed Captain who has sailed and taught sailing for most of his life.
