This workshop will provide participants a perfect environment, where through hands on experience, they learn the techniques of video production as a method of self expression while in a diverse environment with other participants from different cultural backgrounds. In 2009, given the theme "Japan in New York", each group will explore aspects of Japanese culture and business in New York, which will afford participants the opportunity to learn about cross-cultural communication and diverse aspects of New York. Participants will take English as a Second Language (ESL) or Japanese as a Second Language (JSL) classes. They will learn their target languages and have opportunities to use those languages through various activities and dormitory life. There will also be many activities lined up, such as computer music creation, dance, cross-cultural events, field trips to Broadway musical, etc.
