Laurel Ridge Farms
Summer Address:

Our facilities consist of many acres of pasture and natural woods with plenty of trails for the novice to experienced rider. There is also swimming, boating and fishing available at the farm's private pond. The camp for young riders ages 6 - 17 is dedicated to building skills and confidence through equestrian activities and outdoor adventures.
During the school year, riders participate in small group or private lessons and regularly compete in local shows. In the summer months, students advance their horsemanship skills and self-confidence in equestrian and other camp activities.
We have horses that suit the needs of any level of rider from beginner to advanced and also welcome students to bring their horses as well. All camp activities are led in small groups by experienced riders. We often invite clinicians in the fields of dressage and jumping to teach extra classes during camp to those who would benefit from upper level instruction.
Each morning, campers ride in small group lessons based on riding ability. All campers learn to groom, saddle, and bridle their own horses. They will also participate in barn chores, such as cleaning tack and stalls, feeding and watering animals, etc.
After our morning activities, we will have a game or craft to do inside the cabin before lunch is served. We also will have horsemanship classes every day so campers can learn more about horse care, maintenance and other topics related to horses in addition to learning about riding.
We will have a fun ride or other activity each afternoon such as trail riding, bareback games, swimming the horses in the lake, or scavenger hunts. We spend the late afternoons down at the lake in the heat of the day or often take trips to local Amicalola Falls. If it rains we have indoor activities or take field trips to the movies or bowling alley.
