DescriptionBack to top

Lewis Day Camp is a traditional day camp run by the Meeting Waters YMCA in Bellows Falls.  Camp takes place on our 52 acre property in Springfield, VT and we serve people ages 6-13 with our Leader-in-Training program for teens ages 14 & 15.  We offer many traditional camp features like arts and crafts and field games. We also offer archery and canoeing on the Black River.  There is a large playing field surrounded by forest with leantos for group gatherings and protection from the weather.  A large in-ground swimming pool is available for daily swin lessons and free swim.  There is a pavilion with picnic tables for lunch and crafts and a stage with seating for 150.  Our fire pit was recently renovated with new benches to seat over 100.  This is a favorite activity at our parent's nights. We partner with Vermont Academy for our bussing services and will transport children from 12 VT and NH communities at no extra cost.  Transportation is provided from Westminster, Chester, Springfield, Saxtons River, Bellows Falls, Brattleboro, and Putney in VT and Walpole, Drewsville, Alstead, Langdon, and Charlestown in NH.  Our camp staff will ride the busses to ensure camper safety.  We are state licensed and will accept State Subsidy from Vt and Title XX in NH.  There are 2 other forms of financial aid available: 1. The Meeting Waters YMCA has a scholarchip fund and 2. there are many local organizations that have raised funds to help children go to camp.  More information is available upon request.  All of our staff have been certified in CPR and our lifeguards are certified in lifeguarding by the American Red Cross.  We also have other camping opportunities with our Specialty Camps (Adventure Sampler and Green Mountain Adventure), LIT program, Kindercamp (which is a one week camping experience for children entering kindergarten in the fall), and Family Camp (A one day event in July for the whole family).  If you would like more information on Lewis Day Camp, any of our other camps, or employment information.
