Marine Discovery Center Summer Adventures
Summer Address:

Adventures for Campers, ages 4-8
Loggerheads
Designed to introduce younger students to the lagoon through a variety of hands-on activities. These activities will include island explorations, arts and crafts, fishing, shoreline and dock explorations and a tour of Ponce Inlet Lighthouse and the Marine Science Center.
Adventures for Campers, ages 7-10
Leatherbacks
Designed for younger students that have participated in our Loggerhead camp or are ready for the next adventure. Leatherbacks will offer campers several hands-on and feet-wet adventures that focus on the mysterious and largest living reptile in the world – the Leatherback Sea Turtle.
Adventures for campers, ages 9-12
Mangrove Maniacs
Explore the waters as we discover the question of why the tropical mangroves are so important to our lagoon. During this 4-5 day camp activities include island explorations, fish and invertebrate studies, kayaking, fishing and tours of the backwaters of the Indian River Lagoon.
Adventures for campers, ages 10-14
Lagoonys
Designed for our advanced camper, this 5-day camp will introduce snorkeling as another way to study and explore the lagoon. In addition, we will travel to Crystal River and snorkel over the amazing sponge beds and sea grasses of the Gulf of Mexico.
Aquatic Adventures
Designed for campers who are interested in exploring Florida's fresh and saltwater environments. Aquatic Adventures includes activities such as surfing, snorkeling, kayaking and the usual island, lab and dock investigations. Come along as we conduct an up close exploration of Canaveral National Seashore, Blue Springs State Park,
St. John's River and the Indian River Lagoon Preserve.
Adventures for campers, ages 10-14 and 12-16
Kayak Explorations
Designed for campers who want to explore Florida's waterways by kayak. Campers will participate in a variety of hands-on kayak activities that teach kayak safety and rescue skills. Activities will include kayak excursions in local fresh and saltwater habitats, kayak equipment workshops, nautical skills workshop, kayak team challengesand much more.
SCUBA Camp
The Scuba Camp is designed for our advanced campers - comfortable with snorkeling - and desire to further the experience with SCUBA. The Marine Discovery Center
has teamed up with Sea Dogs Dive Center to offer an exciting adventure that introduces campers to the world of SCUBA diving. Activities will include islandexplorations, fish and invertebrate studies, kayaking, fishing and 2 sessions of SCUBA diving in a pool and at Blue Springs State Park.
Estuary Explorations
Estuary Explorations takes place on a 192-acre pristine, coastal preserve and is a new camp this summer. The camp introduces campers to team building challenges, GPS scavenger hunts, animal sign interpretation, kayaking, seine netting and many other explorations.
