Nawa Adventure Summer School
Summer Address:

Lassen Expedition and Girls on the Go offer students the opportunity to learn rock climbing, caving, rafting and much more while practicing their leadership skills and building new friendships. These programs are well-suited to students who are generally motivated and have appropriate behavior. Both offer the opportunity to earn academic credit.
Great Challenge and Trinity Challenge offer similar adventure activities but are better-suited to students who need to develop greater social awareness, maturity and responsibility. Great Challenge students can earn academic credit. While the Trinity Challenge is for students 10-14 who are seeking a summer adventure camp.
Each of these programs run simultaneously and lasts four weeks. The program begins on June 24th and ends July 21st. The Nawa campus is situated on 556 acres with beautiful Clear Creek flowing through the middle and surrounded by the valley floor and forested hills on either side. Each of our groups travel to the Redwood forests on the coast, the Mt. Shasta area, Shasta Lake, and Lassen National Park or the Trinity-Alps. Rafting takes place on a beautiful stretch of the Trinity River. Students engage in an outdoor leadership curriculum which includes some basic first aid, basic vertical rescue systems and basic swiftwater rescue. Each of these activities is taught in steps with direct supervision and encourages the development of teamwork within the group.
These groups each spend two days at base camp where they will meet with teachers, travel to Whiskeytown Lake, and have the opportunity to participate in paintball, archery and various other activities.
Our Experience China program is unique from the rest of our programs. Students travel to China to see the sights, experience a new culture, and help teach Chinese students with their conversational English. This can be a very rewarding time as students experience the joy of sharing their knowledge with someone from a different cultural background and build new memories and friendships.
