The New Orleans GlassWorks and Printmaking Studio will again be offering its summer young adult workshop from JUNE AUGUST 2005 FOR STUDENTS AGES 10 -15. Young adults are introduced to and have extensive HANDS-ON INSTRUCTION IN GLASSBLOWING, ARCHITECTURAL STAINED AND FUSED GLASS, WELDED METAL SCULPTURE AND SCIENTIFIC GLASS TORCHWORKING, COMPLEMENTED BY PRINTMAKING, PAPER ENGINEERING WITH BOOK ARTS. GlassWorks has offered this innovative workshop to young adults for the past 14 years. The studio has been honored to see students enrolled discover and master a multitude of challenging, exciting media not offered in their schools. Examples of architectural stained and fused glass, torchworked glass, sculpted metal and blown glass are available in New Orleans ArtWorks, the front room exhibition gallery, with daily demonstrations in the open, working artists studios. Registration available now; weekly workshops strictly limited to 25 students for ideal teacher to student ratio.
