DescriptionBack to top

After all these years, we are proud of the players who have attended the NYBA. Many of them have gone on to be successful High School, College, and Professional Baseball. This is where is all started.

At the Academy, parents and players have realized that "We Can Make the Difference". Willingness to learn and be instructed by our expeienced staff will determine your progress each week. Initially, students are grouped by age, and then regrouped by ability. The Daily Instructional Program will stress the fundamentals of Hitting,Fielding,Throwing, and Basestealing.

Each player will select and participate in a Daily Position Workshop(Specialities). Emphasis during this time period is in the areas of Pitching,Catching, and Infield Play. Students participate in Daily Instructional Games where coaches stress Defensive and Offensive Play with emphasis on a Team Effort. Our staff is comprised of High School & College Coaches, Former Professional Players and present day Coaches who work with athletes on the Major League level, Players who are presently playing for their university. Last summer's Coach to Player Ratio was 1:6.8 .

At the conclusion of each weekly session, each player will receive a comprehensive written evaluation with suggestions for improvement.....Most of our students enroll in more than one week throughout the summer, enrollments do not have to be in consecutive weeks.

Mutiple week students expeience a different set of coaches each week. Different Guest Instructors appear and work with each student's group on a daily basis. Individual players are assigned to their intial group when they return and based upon their Previous Evaluation, Coaches Recommendation, and Subsequent Testing may move into a more challenging ability level group.

Players have a chance to choose a different Speciality and their Skill Development opportunities are enhanced. At the conclusion of each weekly session, each group participates in their own World Series games to help to instill a positive competitive experience...There are prizes for ability, performance, and for our most important award - Super Hustler. There are also Daily Awards before dismissal for any positive effort or performance that was displayed on that instructional day........Parents are welcome at any time during the program.
