NorthWoods Eco-Experience
Teen Research Camp

NorthWoods Stewardship Center’s Eco-Experience Camp is a unique opportunity for high school students (ages 15 -18) to be immersed in conservation research in Vermont. From July 21 – August 1, a team of ten teens is paired with professional biologists and ecologists on an intensive 12-day session of field research and natural history studies. Staff ecologists will guide participants in plant, wildlife, and water quality monitoring projects on NorthWoods’ 3,000-acre research site. This camp offers teens hands-on experience in field research while they contribute to the understanding of wildlife populations and habitat health in the region.

This is a great opportunity for conservation-minded teens to learn about conservation, natural history and field research techniques while camping out in beautiful Northeast Vermont. Each student will find the Eco-Experience Camp to be a wonderful college preparatory experience for those interested in the biology, ecology or conservation fields of study. And it’s a great way for teens to enjoy the summer with like-minded young people!

Participants are required to apply for placement on a team. The camp is limited to ten participants. Applicants will submit a short essay on why they are interested in becoming a member of the Eco-Experience Camp and will solicit a letter of recommendation from an adult mentor, teacher or supervisor.
