Youngsters entering grades 6-8 can participate in a unique and fun opportunity to learn oceanography during the summer. Each day, URI Outreach Scientists will cover basic oceanography concepts and escort campers into the field to examine marine life at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels. Excursions to several coastal sites in Southern Rhode Island, a cruise aboard a working research vessel, and a behind the scenes tour of the Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration are all included in this fun-filled week!
Campers meet at URI's Narragansett Bay Campus each morning at 9AM. Parent pick up is at 3PM each afternoon.
Week 1: July 9, 9am - 3pm
Week 2: July 16, 9am - 3pm
