Outer Banks Kiting brings to you successful coaching methods developed over the years by working with the best and fine-tuned by endless hours coaching on the water. No egos involved, just a long history of 8 years in the kiteboarding industry.

Jay Crawford mixes all the right ingredients to ensure students will succeed to their fullest potential. Jay has eight years experience coaching kiteboarding on Hatteras and the local knowledge of Hatteras winds, waters and beaches and will deliver you in comfort aboard our 21' Carolina Skiff to the best possible location for your kiteboarding experience.

KITE FLIGHT: $225
Learn everything about kite flight. This first-time lesson covers all of the necessary basics. Kiteboarding safety and responsibility, set-up, launching, flying a full-size kite with control, landing, water relaunch.

WATER LESSON: $225
This next lesson gets you moving with the kite in the water. Body drag, kite control techniques while moving, water launch, landing and deep water relaunch are all covered. Once you have mastered kite control, we move on to waterstarts and beginning to ride.

ON BOARD LESSON: $225
This lesson gets you going! Now that you have mastered kite control and smooth waterstarts, we get into riding. Techniques for upwind riding, edging, stance, transitions and self-rescue are presented. Recap everything to ensure you are able to safely set up, launch, ride and be self-sufficient.

CUSTOM PRIVATE: $300 (3 hours)
For those up and riding, but looking to take their skills to the next level. Whatever you are looking for can becovered: carving, switch, smooth transitions, edging, upwind riding, jumping, riding fully powered. You tell us what you want to be the focus of the lesson. This is one-on-one private coaching.

WAKE BOARD: $225
Wakeboarding is a great way to learn some basic board skills. Try out your board. Learn some new moves. Carving, turning, toeside riding ... get it dialed and bring it to your kiting.

KITE CRUISE: $300 (half day), $600 (full day)
Note: 3-person base rate, add $25/person for up to 6 people total
For intermediate and advanced riders. Whether you want to cruise the miles of wide open waters on the epic downwinder, dial in a new maneuver, jump down the coast or ride with your crew, a kite cruise is perfect. Have the confidence and safety of a boat escort and the convenience of everything you need close by. Bring your snacks and beverages for the ride home.

KITE CAMP: $700
2-day intensive camp-style approach. Covers everything above plus more! The best way to learn to kiteboard - 2 full days of kiteboard instruction. This approach allows you to learn new skills and put them into action right away. Back-to-back sessions and tech talks.
