The Summer Scholars Program, now in its eighth year, is a groundbreaking intensive 7 day program designed for exceptional current sophomores and juniors eager to experience the atmosphere of college with interactive courses to meet your individual interests.

The 2008 Summer Scholars Program will run from July 12 to July 19 at our New York City Campus, one of the finest locations in the city, nestled between City Hall Park and South Street Seaport. We have a superior program of study scheduled for you, which includes more than a dozen different “majors” for you to choose from.

Each of our majors is designed to provide you with an in-depth and interactive classroom experience in a particular field of study. They are all taught by our world-class Pace University faculty. All of the courses offered in the Summer Scholars Program are in fact part of our undergraduate curricula, giving you a true sense of what the college classroom is like. Each major has 2 courses, a morning course and an afternoon course. In the evenings, all students come together for different activities and seminars designed to help the navigation process of college applications, admissions essays, current events and the vast culture of New York City!

Because Pace University is committed to academics, we have allotted 15 students maximum in each of track.  This way, you are able to receive the specialized attention in the classroom and with the professors that you deserve!  Our professors are ready to provide you with hands on, interactive courses that are definitely going to get you excited for university academic life!

The 2008 Summer Scholars Program Majors are:

  • Model United Nations
  • Film and Screen Studies
  • On Broadway - Acting Skills
  • Legal Studies
  • Forensic Science
  • Biology and Biological Sciences
  • Art Studies - Painting and Design
  • Psychology
  • History
  • The Power of Youth and the Road to the White House
  • Mathematics

During the Program, you will spend your mornings and afternoons participating in the two assigned courses within your major.  After dinner, the entire Summer Scholars Program will come together for the Entering University Life 101 Seminar which will help answer all the questions and concerns you may have about the college application and selection process.  We will include sessions with admissions advisors, financial aide advisors, student activities, academic advisors and a host of other activities aimed at giving you a strong foundation to base your college search.

We draw students to the Summer Scholars Program from near and far, so you have the opportunity to meet fellow students from all over the country. You also have the option of staying on campus in the dorms with us as a resident student or commuting from home each day.
